I watched the Pokemon Direct this morning and I am HYPED.
I don’t think words could describe how much I love what they’ve shown so far!?
So I had to draw the trainer girl and the starters~ It’s pretty quickly drawn tho. I’m hoping to draw something more serious later.

All the starters are pretty even in cuteness to me but I think I’m gonna pick Sobble as my starter when I get a chance to play!!

I actually drew this for my sister Siobhan’s birthday earlier this month, and she suggested I post it on Futaba’s birthday, which is today (Feb 19). ^^

Last year at Ai-kon, Shevi told me that she couldn’t really find any Futaba posters at Ai-kon, and whatever she found wasn’t quite to her taste, which was disappointing.
So, for her next birthday I wanted to draw her that poster she couldn’t find, that didn’t seem to exist – one with meaning, where Futaba is rising up with strength and confidence. I took some artistic liberties with the location and stuff, but I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.

After reading the first volume of I Hear The Sunspot last November, I recently finished the other two released volumes. I’ve been obsessed with Taichi and Kohei since finishing those, so I thought considering the timing, it’d only be right to draw them in a Valentines scene. ♥ ♥ ♥
After lunch, Kohei gives Taichi some homemade chocolate. Of course, Kohei doesn’t tell Taichi they’re homemade, and Taichi doesn’t think of it. If he EVER finds out, it’s probably later through Kohei’s mom or something, and chaos ensues hahaha

But seriously, this manga is SO good. I love the artwork, the characters, and the representation it holds for deaf and hearing impaired people. The romance is handled so well too. I definitely recommend it to anyone who’s interested~
I’ll probably be drawing them again so it’d be nice if someone knew what I was talking about LOL

I took a short break from Christmas prep and other projects to… draw something Christmassy! haha.
Honestly I loved this outfit of Futaba’s when I saw it last year, but it was too late to draw and post anything. When P5D came out I didn’t expect to love the outfit MORE??? So I took the chance to finally draw her and I’m glad I did. ^^ …Back to work now.

I was actually hoping to post something else for the holidays, but I’m not sure if I’ll have time to finish it before the new year. Ah well.

So I’m wishing you all a festive holiday season with cheer, good food and good health too!!

Hello everyone! This is a little late, buuuut…
I’m very happy to share with you all that I placed first in the 2019 Ai-kon Mascot Contest!! ♥
It’s an honour to have my mascot selected to represent Ai-kon for another year and I can’t wait to table there again this summer!! I’m feeling super motivated to come up with new merch and stuff~

And of course, congratulations to the runner-ups and all the other artists too!!
All the entries this year were so good and I think many of them could have easily placed or even won. If any of you artists are reading this, I hope you get a table this year anyway and I’m wishing you all the best for the next Ai-kon mascot contest!

As for me, I will be taking a recess from entering the 2020 mascot contests. I’m excited to see who else will place. : )

About my design:
This was… an interesting one. ^^;
I knew I needed to draw in a clean digital style or Aiko rather than using my current watercolour-inspired style… so I needed to find some other way to make it uniquely my own. All I really knew was that I thought it would be interesting if Aiko had a familiar.

So after pages upon pages of concept sketches, research, overthinking and indecision, and then more research, I ended up going with a more natural archery aesthetic as a result. The design elements kept changing as I worked on it too – even as I was adding the shading. It was an experience haha but all that was worth it and I’m really happy with how she turned out~

Started sketching Oreki months ago and recently finished it as a break from other projects.
Title because I listened to the song on repeat (since it’s in the Hyouka soundtrack)

Hyouka will always be one of my favourite anime. It’s poignant, melancholic, funny, beautifully animated… and under-appreciated. I really, really wish the novels were translated and/or it would get another season. ;__;
