Back to some current art~ I really wanted to draw an alternate universe where past and present Mizuki meet, and give each other strength to move forward. Manga format seemed perfect for it!

It’s a little old now, but here’s my full piece for the Feathers SyaoSaku zine!
I had to redo parts in the background several times, but I learned a lot and I’m happy with the result~

It’s… hard to find words for this piece. I created it for the KyoAni charity zine, but it became a tribute for Kyoto Animation and Hyouka on it’s own.

So, I guess what I’ll say is,

Thank you Kyoto Animation, for creating such inspiring, meaningful series.
You’ve given me a sense of belonging, strength, joy, and hope, in some of the darkest times.
Thank you… thank you.

My piece for the PSYNCIN’ IN THE ZaiNE charity zine!

It was difficult to decide on a concept for this one – I had so much I wanted to draw, and I pressured myself since this zine means a lot to me haha… oops. The background was a huge struggle too. But in the end, I wanted to give these characters some peace, away from the darkness seen in the game, and I’m really happy with how it turned out~
It’s an absolute honor to have this alongside all the other brilliant pieces in the AITSF zine!!

Other Previews (BEWARE OF SPOILERS): Twitter Moment

Preorders have opened for the KyoAni fanzine I’m in!! It’s a zine dedicated to those who were lost in the Kyoto Animation fire last year, and proceeds are going to Give Kids the World Village, to give children precious memories just like KyoAni did for us. The zine features beautiful artwork and merch inspired by many of their projects.

Though I’m saddened by the sheer loss that happened last year, I’m thankful to see the families got the support they needed. Kyoto Animation has been a huge influence on both my art, and me as a person. And to be able to draw Hyouka, one of my all-time favourite anime series, for the tribute to their memories – it’s truly an honor.

Well, the Women Made Fullmetal zine has been out for a while so here’s my piece!!
I was chosen to draw Sarah and Pinako Rockbell.

Despite being family, I’m not aware of Sarah and Pinako sharing any scenes in canon, so I had no idea how they would interact or anything… Once I added Winry and Den as their connection, it went much more smoothly. I couldn’t help but think of how many people they helped – even saved – on the Elric brother’s journey. Pinako and Sarah don’t appear as often as other characters, nor are they typically fan favourites, but they were the ones who built a solid foundation for Winry and I wanted to portray that. Without passing down that knowledge, kindness and strength, the story wouldn’t have been the same at all.

Anyway~ Seeing the zine in person was nothing short of amazing, and it’s been an honour working with so many skilled artists to create such a powerful and beautiful book. Thank you everyone for having me in the project!
