Felt like starting the new year off experimental, a fantasy landscape, and having it more painterly-style than watercolour-style.
Painting this was quite a journey in itself! I started with nothing in mind, just colour on the canvas, and let it develop on it’s own. That was a lot of fun, but I efinitely need to do more studies before I attempt painting an original landscape again. I’m really happy with it though~

I’ve been inactive for personal reasons, and wasn’t planning on drawing anything for Christmas like this… but my Aunt gifted us a beautiful sparkling poinsettia, and inspiration struck me at the last minute. I cut back on the watercolour effects this time, so painting the different textures was a lot of fun.

Watched Kiki’s Delivery Service for the first time a week ago. I loved it’s slow pace, how sweet and fun it was, and thought it would be fun to draw Kiki’s wreath from the store window! Been a while since I painted any food art, after all~

Been feeling nostalgic recently… so I drew some of the wildflowers I saw often in my childhood, while playing and catching bugs hehe. Remembering them gives me warm fuzzies, and I can tell those days were the basis for who I would be today.

Lately I’ve been sending my friends photos of the jackrabbit that frequents my backyard. It’s been nice sharing that joy together, so I thought drawing a rabbit would be a nice way to share that joy further! Also, I got to draw more cute pastels, hehehe.

Here’s the last of my whimsical woodland food artworks!

I’ve drawn strawberry-themed artworks a few times now, and though I’ll be switching back to anime art for a while, I think I’ll be drawing galaxy-themed dessert art next! Any suggestions on fruit/flavours that would match, or that you’d like to see in general?

A delicious forest cake, decorated with plenty of berries, cookies and treats to share….. or not to share~?

Is there anything you’ve created recently that was more challenging than you originally thought? This food series was my most challenging to paint yet, since I had to balance between “does this look enough like food?” and “does it look enough NOT like food, and more like a forest tree stump?” It was A Time, but I’m really proud of how the series turned out!
