It went AWESOMELY, and we had a lot of fun! : D
I was at table #29, same spot I was in last year. But just because we were in the same spot this year, doesn’t mean we didn’t change it up from last year! I had a “new” magnetic display (thank you mom and dad for building it!!), and I was one out of two or three people to actually have a button maker there. I had about 70 different button designs – both fan art and original. I also “officially” offered sketch commissions, but in button form. ^__^
I saw my friends Ellen and Jen again. I hadn’t seen them since the last Ai-kon, so it was really awesome. I also met Sammy in the real world, and we were table neighbors, which was fun. We also talked to Haley, and mom and I thought she was so sweet. c:
Another really great thing was seeing people from last year again, and meeting new people as well. (:
I didn’t have a lot of time to talk to people, which I’m sorry about. I would’ve really loved to talk to more people.
But thanks to anyone who stopped by my table to look, buy, trade with me, or even just chat. I appreciate it a lot, and it was really great!!
Which reminds me – for those who were/are wondering what my deviantART account is, you can find it by clicking this link. Thank you, and sorry my business cards didn’t list them. I’ll try and fix that for next year! xD
The first batch of bookmarks have been mailed out. If yours doesn’t reach you, please let me know.
Mom and I will be coming up with ways for us to not run out of stuff next year, but in the meantime, I’ll be opening a small, online store. It’ll have physical goods I’ve created, and we’ll be taking PayPal. Watch out, because it should be opening in September sometime!!
We cosplayed again this year, and this time all four of us (Dad, Mom, my sister Shevi and I) cosplayed! Mom and Dad were especially awesome. My sister was just plain ol’ adorable.
On Friday we cosplayed in our Fullmetal Alchemist cosplays again. I was Edward, Shevi was Winry (with a totally completed cosplay this year) and dad was King Bradley. :3
On Saturday, Mom, Shevi, and I dressed up in our new Vocaloid cosplays! Shevi and I were dressed as Rin and Len Kagamine, specifically from “Love is War”. Mom dressed up as Gumi Megpoid from “Matryoshka”. >D
If you have any pictures of us, you can contact me at sloan@designsbysloan.com – we’d really appreciate it! ;w;
I’ll be uploading the pictures we took at Ai-kon soon. Unfortunately, we didn’t get as many pictures this year because our little Canon camera stopped working. : ( But like it’s been in the past, it’ll be in a password protected post in respect of people’s privacy. I’ll be posting the password on the Ai-kon forums, but you can also email me or note me on dA for it once it’s posted.
But yeah, keep an eye out for it~!
Thanks again to everybody who stopped by my table, and to my friends! The support was truly overwhelming, and you guys made my weekend amazing, when it could have easily gone the other direction.
More thanks go to Amy and her partners-in-crime for creating and running the Artist Fair so well. And of course, thanks to the rest of the committee and volunteers as well! I hear people online complain about other conventions, but thanks to all you guys, Ai-kon is run pretty much perfectly~ So keep up the great work!!
One last note: I am sorry this is being posted so late. It’s been two weeks since Ai-kon, and chances are nobody cares about this post anymore. We’ve just been so busy! As soon as we got home from Ai-kon, my Grandpa went in for eye surgery, and immediately after we had to move him into a Seniors Apartment.
Thanks again, and I hope everybody had a GREAT weekend! (this weekend, last weekend, and Ai-kon weekend, haha… ;_; )
