Ai-kon 2019 – Quest Complete!!

31 July 2019

Hey hey!! Ai-kon 2019 is over, quest complete, and that means it’s time to post a recap!!

For me this year, there were so many struggles leading up to Ai-kon. I was worried, especially because last Ai-kon was rough for me. But this year was actually amazing. Honestly, 2019 has been my favourite year yet, and I’ve been going since 2009. It’s not going to be easy to top!

I say it every year, but I really do find the support I get every year to be overwhelming.
However THIS year took the cake for me! It was my easiest, least stressful setup yet and I was able to create a brand for it that was actually complimented for its warmth. I got to see so many friends and congoers that I only get to see once a year. Had some awesome table-neighbors! I got Jerry Jewell’s authograph to match my Josh Grelle autograph from last year (for Yuri on Ice!! eeeee). I had fun trading and meeting with other artists, though there were some I missed just because the weekend was so hectic. I’m so proud of my sister (Dash of Creativity) too, she keeps improving her art and kicking it up a notch every year!

Not to mention the mascot contest!! GOSH…
I’ve won once before, but this year? THIS YEAR was different for me.
I saw a poster that was up in my own home town. That never happened before. Plus I heard about posters being shown all over Winnipeg, I wish I could’ve seen it and more of the con.
The official Ai-kon t-shirts and other merchandise were practically sold out by the end of Friday.
I’m told that broke a record for the staff, and that congoers wanted more!! It’s an honour to have my artwork represent Ai-kon for another year, and to have her be appreciated by so many people. Her natural archery/rogue design became very personal for me, so it truly means a lot.

Acutally. There’s really aren’t enough words in the dictionary to completely cover the thankfulness and warmth I feel right now. So I’ll keep it simple.
Thank you everyone!! To the committee, the volunteers, the congoers, my friends and family, everyone! I hope your Ai-kon 2019 experience was great, because mine wouldn’t have been if it weren’t for you! THANK YOU!

I’m planning on putting together a con loot post to share the awesome artists I traded with, however between unpacking and feeling groggy/mentally exhausted after the con, it may take me a little more time! ;;
