Akane Sasu

28 January 2017

“In a moment of weakness,
I reach out my hand
and a petal finds a moment’s rest
in this palm of mine”

Song: “Akane Sasu” by Aimer

I absolutely loved the ending song for season 5 of Natsume Yuujinchou. “Akane Sasu” by Aimer is definitely my favourite song of the series (with “Aishiteru” by Callin’ a close second), even though the matching video came a little bit late in the season. It’s powerful, melancholic, but has a strange sense of warmth as well. To me it was a perfect addition to the series but also a little different than the (still good,) songs used previously.

I’ve been wanting to draw a more polished fanart of Natsume for a while, especially with the excitement from seaon 6 coming out this spring. I thought the flower scene from the last episode and sunset theme from Akane Sasu would contrast nicely so I decided to combine them. There’s still things I’m not happy with but overall I think it worked well. ^^

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I finished watching Yuri on Ice a while ago and I have to say, I loved it. I wasn’t expecting to that’s for sure – but the animation, character development, storytelling, and relationships has definitely left me wanting more… not because it was lacking, but because it was so well done!
I sincerely hope that there will be a season 2. I love Viktor and Yuri (+ how much they love each other!)… I want to see more of them and the other characters!! aaaaa

Thank you for looking and have a great day everyone <3

Ai-kon 2017 Mascot Entry

22 January 2017

Whoops! I didn’t realize I hadn’t posted on my blog in a while. However, the Ai-kon mascot results were announced so I figured it’s time to post my entry.

I didn’t place this year, which is alright. It was a difficult theme this year (mecha) and I struggled settling on a concept – I only chose this one because I ran out of time. But I tried some new techniques and even attempted to draw (and design) a motorcycle… I’m pretty proud of that. :)

Congrats to everyone who entered! Regardless of whether you placed or not, the theme was out of most people’s comfort zones so just trying in itself is a win, to me.

Thank you for reading! <3
