Redesigning my character, Caely.

She’s basically friends with ~dashofcreativity’s character, Zeb. They travel around together~
However, when I remembered how much I loved her characters (and my matching one…) I realized… they didn’t match AT ALL now that they’re not neopets. Hers were medieval/RPG style, and Caely was steampunk.
So I took this opportunity to redesign her~
Though I’m sure I’m not done, this is more.. a concept.

I decided to change her name, as I have a decent amount of characters whose names start with ‘C’, so I have changed her name to Reese. <3 Thanks so much! <3

A little while back, we got a bird feeder. I’ve really been enjoying it. ^^ I haven’t identified all the birds that usually come, but one of them is a favourite of mine~ The chickadee.

I’ve been wanting to make another bird-like fairy again, but never had the idea. Thanks to the feeder, I remembered that I had wanted a chickadee-themed character back when I was on neopets. So I did this little chibi~

So yeah. She’s not really supposed to BE a chickadee… her wings and everything aren’t quite right, shape-wise. Her colours also look a bit off now that I look at it. But I still kinda like her. I hope you do, too. ^^

Uuugh I’m so tired. I stayed up a bit late last night and woke up early just to try and catch some last minute August bugs/fish on Animal Crossing.. OTL

BUT ANYWAY. My fairytale prince, princess and derpy dragon returned from last year in button form!

I simplified them so more would fit better, but generally I think I like these better than the bookmarks. I tried to make the princess look more independent. |D

UUUUUUUUGH, I feel like a zombie today. Stupid weather…
Anyway, taking a break from my convention goodies to post a traditional picture I did last week~~

It’s of my original character, Slade. I originally started it because I wanted to use one of my new copic colours, B79 (AKA: Iris). Then it progressed and turned into this. o3o

The flowers are supposed to be irises. The butterflies are supposed to be Spicebush Swallowtails (papilo troilus). I don’t feel like I succeeded with either… and the picture generally looks better on paper, but I can’t figure out why. T_T I like how her hair and dress turned out, though.

In my portfolio, it went next to last year’s print of Epic. They were hard to match with any other prints of mine. X_x

Slade finally found a moment to herself, to think back to certain days, where she had different friends and fears than she does now. A cherished time. A time that.. if she had the chance, she’d go back to…

I started working on this last saturday, worked on it off an on, and I finally decided it was finished and postable today. :’D
I was watching some speedpaint videos on youtube (don’t really remember who’s though…) and felt really inspired to paint something after that. It turned out to be an original picture of Slade~ <3 The colours were SO HARD to do though. I had a general idea of what I wanted for a mood; but for the actual colour scheme, I didn't figure it out until after everything was shaded, basically... X_x It was also really hard because I always paint Slade so darkly - but I wanted the picture to be lighter. So I hope I succeeded. It might turn out too bright though; now that I've uploaded it, it looks way too vibrant compared to the original... grrrr I also listened to a lot of music that suited mostly; but when it came to put lyrics to the picture none of them did LOL. So weird. D: One last thing. I can't guarantee that a scene like this will really happen in the story. Soyeah. Thanks for looking! <3

Last Thursday, I got to try a kiwifruit for the first time! 8D I really like them. They’re a lot like strawberries and grapes smooshed into one fruit. And they’re visually-appealing~!
It gave me an idea for a kiwi-faerie. 8D I might draw her more seriously, but I really just wanted to draw her design before I forgot it.

Generally I like how she turned out, but the.. see-through fabric stuff.. stuff didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted. I need to experiment more. o3o

I drew something like this a while back, and never made it past the line art stage. Then last night, I was just doodling and.. this happened. (Don’t worry, I’m not depressed! I’m just playing with different art styles. :3)

For the colouring style, I kind of aimed to have it look like it was done with watercolours, even though it’s digital. (Kinda like `yuumei‘s art is like) :3

This summer was amazing; every where we looked, there were just.. so many dragonflies! (And no mosquitoes, teehee) It gave me an idea for this steampunk character. I didn’t really draw her until today, though..
She’s nameless for now. Also, still working on her colour scheme. And personality. And.. everything. oAo;;

But yeah. I just really wanted to draw (and kind of finish) something today. I’ve been drawing a bit since new years, but I haven’t gotten far with anything. :c So it’s a quick picture, but whatever. Felt great drawing it. Though I fought a bit with her face afterwards.. orz
